HOW TO DO NURSING & MIDWIFERY COUNCIL (NMC) UK & INTERNATIONAL VERIFICATION FROM KARNATAKA STATE NURSING COUNCIL

Hai friends,

Today  I would like to discuss regarding international verification procedures in karnataka nursing council as somany of you requested to write continuation of my previous blog. I wish to add NMC UK registration process and international verification process together. The nurses who needs to migrate to other countries also can follow the steps of international verification which is mentioned here.

HOW TO START PROCESS-NMC UK REGISTRATION:
First up all you have to register in NMC uk website.
A. ENGLISG LANGUAGE TEST-IELTS/OET
B. Assessment :

Applicants will need to provide the following evidence in order to complete an assessment:

  1.  A valid passport. This same document must also be presented at the test centre.
  2.  Birth certificate
  3.  A qualification certificate for each qualification being submitted as part of the application
  4.  Registration certificates from each jurisdiction where the applicant has practised and/or been registered
  5.  Two employment references confirming the applicant’s post-registration practice of at least 12 months, their competence and character
  6.  Verifications from all jurisdictions where the applicant practised or where the applicant has been previously registered
  7.  Transcript of training for all relevant nursing or midwifery programmes completed by the applicant. These must be calculated in hours or be accompanied by a letter from the training institution with a key to how the credits translate to hours
  8.  A good health declaration from the applicant’s general practitioner or the occupational health department at their place of work
  9.  A police clearance certificate from all countries where the applicant has lived since the age of 18

C.Test of competence (CBT) :

  • Once applicants have passed the eligibility assessment, they will be asked to sit the first part of the test of competence.
  • This will be a computer based test of theoretical practice-based knowledge.
  • The test format will be multiple choice and can be taken in test centres around the world through Pearson Vue, NMC’s test provider, to book and pay for their test.

D.Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) :
  •  This will act out scenarios which nurses  likely to encounter when they assess, plan, carry out and evaluate care.
  • Each separate clinical examination is known as a ‘station’ and candidates will visit all the stations within a set time.
  • Each of the six stations has standardised marking criteria against which all candidates are assessed.
  • Candidates are assessed by a panel of examiners and will be filmed for quality assurance purposes.
  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate safe and effective practice.
  • The test of competence is based on current UK pre-registration standards.
  • You can take the OSCE in the UK at the University of Northampton. When NMC authorises candidates to take the OSCE, they should contact the university directly.

E. Identification check :

  • Applicants are required to attend a face-to-face identification check at NMC office in London.
  • At the ID interview produce your passport which you already submitted.
  • They will make final checks on your previous registration, and take a photograph for their records.

F. Final registration:

  • once NMC has received notification that an applicant has successfully completed part two of the test of competence and the ID check, they will be invited to complete their final declaration and payment for registration online.
  • Once both have been received, you will be sent your PIN (personal identification number), confirming that you are fully registered with the NMC.
  • Your registration will then show up on the NMC register online.

HOW TO SET UP NMC ONLINE ACCOUNT:
Step 1:Go http://to www.nmc.org.uk. Click on ‘NMC Online’ to access the login page.
Step 2: Click on ‘Register’.
Step 3: Select the option that is most appropriate for you.
• If you are already registered with the NMC then select the option “I have an NMC Pin”
• If you are a student who trained in the UK or you are returning to the register you also select the option “I
have an NMC Pin”
• If you have been accepted for initial registration from the EU then select the option “I am an EU applicant
applying for initial registration”.
Step 4: Provide information as requested on screen. We will ask you to enter your:
• email address • surname* • NMC Pin or PRN* • date of birth.*
* The details you enter must match the information we hold on our register for security reasons. If you get an
error message then please contact us. You will then be asked to enter a password.
Step 5: Verify your email address. You will receive an email. Please click on the link in this email to continue the registration process.
Please note:
• If this email does not come to your inbox, please check your junk/spam folders
• You must click this link to verify your email and continue with your registration
• The email can take up to 15 minutes to arrive.
Step 6: Once you click the link in the email, you will land on the following page. Please login to continue your online
registration.
Step 7: Set up security
We will ask you to provide memorable answers to questions. You will need to provide these if you want to make changes to your account in the future.
Step 8: You now have access to your account and will see your home page. Welcome to NMC Online.
Step 9: Providing your personal information. Please go to the ‘My registration’ tab and enter your address and telephone contact details.You will also be asked to complete the ‘Equality and Diversity’ section.
 

               Now let us see how nmc uk and ksnc related for the international verification process.

Let us see what are the docuemnts which is required for this process. I hope these documents are enough . But some times may not be necessary all these.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO SEND BY EMAIL OR TO CARRY WITH YOU AT YOUR VISIT TO KSNC:

  1. KSNC license valid . ( Note:life long validity is not there now . So you have to renew your license if it expired or not renewed before).
  2. Foreign Council Verification Application Form
  3. Senior secondary  school certificate
  4. adhar card or passport includes visa page if applicable
  5. Mark list  all
  6. Diploma/degree certiifcate
  7. Course completion certificate
  8. Experience certiifcate from hospitals in karnataka(for good standing) or abroad hospitals
  9.  Request Letter
  10.  Personal Information & Contact Information Page - 1 copy each
  11. Payment Receipt 3 copies
  12.  Appointment print out 1 copy(some times if you are unable to take print -then take screen shot of appointment or sms mesage or application print out)
  13. Photograph

STEPS FOR INTERNATIONAL VERIIFCATION AT KSNC:

  • For NMC UK online Verification, before visiting KSNC, you have to Register on NMC UK website and remit their Fees online.
  • After successful registration and payment, NMC will automatically send EMAIL to KSNC for their reply. Candidate will get a confirmation mail with their Application Reference Number.
  • Next step is to complete the formalities with the KSNC Registration portal online.
I hope all of you have ksnc login details . until now if you didnt create the ksnc profile then create new.
Step 1: Create a User ID and Password on KSNC website:

Step 2: Fill up two Online Forms: Personal Information page and Contact Information Page
Step 3: KSNC Fees to be paid online for verification
Step-4: Schedule your Appointment
Step 5: Application Print. If not comes then take screen shot and print it.
Step 6: Documents forwarding by Email
Keep all scanned documents ready in a separate folder in .pdf format and forward to KSNC MAIL  customerserviceksnc@gmail.com. If you are visiting KSNC carry one set of following photo copies.

                                   Nurses who has already having KSNC Online Account and also his/her photo is uploaded onto the account, can apply thru Email.  In most cases KSNC will accept such requests from candidates and promptly reply to NMC, UK. Usually  you have to submit goodstanding certificate also. So better to appply for goodstanding also with this. You can pay additioanl  Rs 2000 for Goodstanding Certificate, then pay online  and submit the receipt to KSNC.  Send mail to KSNC  to reply to NMC accordingly.
                           Apply online or you can  visit KSNC and submit necessary  documents as per the requirement. KSNC will send their Verification Reply to NMC, UK instantly THROUGH EMAIL ONLY. Within 10 working days the candidate will get CONFIRMATION MAIL from NMC indicating their verification from KSNC is received. Meanwhile the candidate also can log into their NMC online account and check the progress of their online Verification.
              Hai , you must check your mail for spasm messages also. If you are facing any trouble you can mail to both these authorities. You can check nmc online for your process details and current steps.
