UAE - MOH Licensing Process for all Health care Professionals
The UAE (UNITED ARAB EMIRATES) is a federation of 7 Emirates-Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. The health care field in UAE has placed strong focus and attention for both citizens and residents to provide world class comprehensive healthcare . There are both Government and Private health care sectors and training universities for health care professionals in UAE. As I have an experience here in UAE to work as a health care professional , I like the hospital working environment , remuneration, security for professionals which is provided by UAE is appreciable.
This blog is related to how to get a registered health care practitioner in UAE ministry of health. Under UAE ministry of health the following emirates are involved -Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. That means if you are a health professional who possess MOH UAE evaluation, you can work these 5 emirates in health care field. To work as a health care staff you must have MOH license. This blog explains how to get license in MOH for all health care professionals.
Professionals who can apply for MOH UAE License:
- 1. Paramedical Professions
- (Medical Technicians & Alternative Medicine Technicians-TCAM)
- 2. Physicians
- 3. Dentists
- 4. Pharmacists
- 5. Practitioners of the profession of nursing and midwifery
General Terms and Conditions for all HCP:
1. There should be no practicing interruption of the profession for more than two years
2. The certificate must be accredited in UAE
3. Pass the prescribed tests, if required
4. All documents submitted to “Data Flow” Company to be checked and the result of the
report must be positive.
5. Certificates are accepted in Arabic or English only, and if they are in other languages, the
certificate must be legally translated and duly certified, and the two original certificates must
be uploaded with the translated copy.
6. In case of transfer from Abu Dhabi Department of Health or Dubai Health Authority, the
license must be valid, and if it is not renewed or canceled, it must not exceed a period of 6
months, and in case of exceeding 6 months, the applicant is subject to the prescribed tests.
7. Experience is calculated from the date of issuance of the license
8. Pass the prescribed exams for each category.
Documents Required for License process:
1. Academic qualification -Degree/Diploma/Masters/PHD -Convocation certificate and whole year mark list or Transcript from college.
2. Duration of work experience corresponding to the field of specialization
3. A professional license corresponding to the period of work experience -Initial copy and renewed if applicable.
4. Certificate of good professional conduct-Good standing certificate valid for 6 month from issue date from last employment place licensing council.
5. A valid passport
6. Passport and family book for citizens
7. The applicant’s birth certificate and the mother’s family book for children of female citizens
8. Residency certificate for specialist
9. Surgeons Log book for Specialists
10. Basic Life support certificate for some professionals
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Login to the MOHAP website or smart application to apply for e-services, create an account, get username and password
2. Fill out the required data and information, submit an evaluation request, and pay service fees
3. You will be provided with a link to pay the certificate verification fees (Dataflow)
4. And as soon as the data flow fees are paid, the application procedures will be completed (either by transferring to the scheduled test or tests, or exemption from tests according to the terms and requirements of the exemption).
5. Issuance of an assessment certificate in case of passing the prescribed tests (or exempting from the tests) . In case of failure, the test will be repeated (the number of test attempts is 3 attempts for each category of tests)
6. Obtaining MOH Evaluation letter.
7. Find an employer .Once you are selected in a facility , the employer will activate the electronic moh license. That license is renewing every year. Once you change the facility the moh license should be cancel from first facility and register under new facility. These process are doing by your employer.
