DUBAI HEALTH CARE CITY LICENSING FOR NURSES:

All Healthcare Professiona ls (HCPs) at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) must obtain a license from Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory (DHCR), an independent regulatory arm responsible for licensing healthcare providers and professionals, and setting and maintaining international best practice in healthcare delivery and patient care within the free zone.

The DHCR’s licensing department conducts Primary Source Verification, an in-house process through which HCPs’ credentials are verified for authenticity and accuracy from the issuer. The department is responsible for ensuring that licensing of HCPs is carried out in accordance with regulations.

QUALIFICATION  REQUIREMENT:

Professional Qualification -------A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing of at least three (3) years duration from an accredited institute/college/university.

Clinical Work Experience---A minimum of one (1) year of working experience as a Registered Nurse

Professional License----A current license/registration to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)----Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.

English Proficiency Test Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English.-------TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.

DHCA Licensing Exam-----Required

Recommendation letters------Two (2) favorable reference letters written in the last two (2) years from healthcare professionals practicing in the same field.

  • Education certificates with transcript of records. Education Certificates may include any of the followings: Diploma, Bachelor’s, Post Graduates Degree etc.
  • Recent experience letters.
  • Valid License/​Registration from licensing body of country of recent employment.
  • Valid Good Standing Certificate.
  • Valid Passport Copy.
  • Recent Photo.
  • Offer letter from recruiting facility (If Available).
  • Malpractice Insurance from recruiting facility (If Available).

DHCA Exam Guidelines:

  •  Applicants can only register for the exam after the application review process has been completed. The applicant will then be given an Eligibility ID to register for the exam. To begin the application review process, kindly follow the link to register a profile and submit an application https://www. dhcr.gov.ae/en/E-Services.
  • Passing the DHCA Exam does not automatically guarantee a license to practice in DHCC. The license issuance process will be subject to the verification of the candidate's credentials and submission of all necessary documents
  • DHCA Exam Eligibility ID is valid only for 3 months from the date of issue.
  • A candidate can have maximum 3 attempts per DHCA exam.
  • The result is available immediately once the exam is completed.

Letter Issuance

PROFESSIONAL Can apply for the following letters:

    1. Good Standing/ Current Standing Certificate (CGS)
      • States the standing status of the healthcare professional during the licensed period in DHCC

      • Includes all the credentials and references that were verified.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR LICENSE RENEWAL:

  • Proof of Continuity of Practice/ Certificate of Employment from all facilities within DHCC at which the applicant is currently practicing.
  • Valid UAE medical malpractice insurance (MMI).
  • Valid Life Saver course (BLS/ACLS/ATLS/PALS etc), as applicable
  • The CPD activities and the CPD points earned during the two years licensure period
  • Proof of registration completion with Al Maktoum Medical Library (AMML).
